Role Description

The position of Senior Migration Consultant - R&D is a key role within the Professional Services group at Veeva Systems. The successful candidate will lead migration solutions for project teams implementing Veeva Vault R&D applications and the Vault Platform cloud solutions tailored for life sciences companies. This remote, full-time role requires direct involvement in customer migration implementations, leveraging expertise in data/document migration, Vault API, and specific Vault migration tools and best practices.

As a Senior Migration Architect, the individual will take on the responsibility of being an advocate for customer migrations while working in collaboration with various teams within Veeva, including Services, Product, Sales, and Strategy. This role is intrinsically connected to the overall success of Veeva’s clients, ensuring that their needs are met both in the present and as they move forward.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, the individual will be expected to:

• Provide subject matter expertise on Vault R&D migration implementations, detailing the migration of document content and object data from legacy systems to Vault.
• Advise customers regarding the extract, transform, and load (ETL) process, ensuring accurate and efficient migrations.
• Mentor other Veeva Data Migration Specialists in best practices related to migration activities.
• Contribute insights to the Professional Services knowledge base regarding migration programs.
• Offer guidance on the development of migration tools enhancing the ETL process.
• Assist in project scoping estimates specifically for the Vault R&D product suite.

Required Skills and Experience

Candidates aspiring for this position are expected to possess the following qualifications:

• A minimum of 7 years of experience with document/content migration using enterprise content management systems such as Documentum, OpenText, Box, SharePoint, etc.
• At least 7 years of experience with database migration which uses enterprise software systems like SAP, Salesforce.com, PeopleSoft, Oracle, and others.
• Customer-facing technical consulting experience for a minimum of 7 years, showcasing a proven track record working closely with senior management and executives.
• Demonstrated experience in leading and mentoring team members.
• Proficiency in working with REST APIs, JSON, and XML is essential.
• The ability to travel up to 10% is required.
• The ideal candidate must be based in the United States or Canada and must be legally authorized to work in either region.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous involvement in pharmaceutical and life sciences sectors.
• Familiarity with business processes related to Clinical, Regulatory, Quality, or Safety within the relevant industry.
