The responsibilities of the Writer and Editor include:
Content Creation and Strategy: Developing high-impact, multi-channel content that drives emotional responses and motivates action regarding animal welfare issues.
Team Collaboration: Guiding less experienced writers and leading small initiatives, while sharing feedback and encouraging collaboration among team members.
Freelance Coordination: Overseeing freelance writers and external content providers to ensure the fulfillment of quality deliverables and adherence to editorial standards.
Budget Management: Handling project budgets related to content creation and tracking expenses to ensure compliance with provided financial guidelines.
Training Development: Creating training materials and conducting workshops to foster consistent messaging and editorial standards throughout the organization.
Workflow Management: Utilizing content management systems and maintaining effective communication with other team members to streamline content production.
Editorial Decision-Making: Making informed choices regarding content style, tone, and strategy while adhering to THL’s brand guidelines.
Performance Evaluation: Using analytics to assess content performance and suggesting strategic improvements based on audience engagement.
Time Management: Prioritizing multiple deadlines while ensuring the maintenance of high-quality standards.
To be eligible for the Writer and Editor role, candidates should possess the following skills and qualifications:
Writing and Editing Expertise: A minimum of 3 years in writing and editing, exhibiting proficiency in both short-form (like social media postings) and long-form content (such as reports and articles).
Strong Communication Skills: The ability to articulate content ideas clearly to colleagues and stakeholders alike, adapting communication styles to suit various audiences.
