Designing scalable web architectures, including hosting and distributed systems like AWS and CloudFront, will also be a part of the role. Leading projects from inception to completion entails maintaining timelines, managing stakeholder expectations, ticket triaging, and regular presentations alongside teammates and leadership. Participation in code reviews to provide feedback to peers is encouraged, as is mentoring new hires and providing technical guidance to both technical and non-technical colleagues. The development and maintenance of comprehensive testing strategies ensure the quality and reliability of the code is another facet of the role.
Ideal candidates will possess over five years of experience in development using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, alongside at least three years in React/Typescript, frameworks like Next.js and Gatsby, headless CMSs like Sanity and Contentful, and back-end technologies such as Node.js and Express. Experience in handling SEO-driven projects, localization, performance optimization, and experimentation is also desired. Familiarity with QA and testing, encompassing unit, integration, and end-to-end testing, is critical. Understanding of site security, like DDoS attack mitigation and prevention of cross-site scripting (XSS) and SQL injections, comes highly regarded. Although not mandatory, experience in conversion rate optimization standard methodologies and familiarity with cloud infrastructure, CI/CD strategy, and deployment processes are considered added advantages.
