The role involves both editing and writing, requiring collaboration with reporters and editors throughout the newsroom. The staff editor must be adept at editing with speed, accuracy, transparency, and authority.
The responsibilities for this position include:
The ideal candidate will have: 2+ years of experience covering breaking news, keen news judgment, editing experience, the ability to work night and weekend shifts, understanding of CMS platforms like WordPress, familiarity with social media platforms, and an interest in various sports. This is a remote position open to candidates located in the United States or Canada, with an annual base salary ranging from $67,000 to $70,000 USD. The position's compensation may vary, potentially including non-cash rewards and benefits.
