Role Description

Responsibilities

The Founding Engineer position includes several key responsibilities:

  • System Architecture & Rapid Prototyping: Design a lean, scalable architecture tailored for the startup stage and rapidly prototype solutions to validate concepts with pilot customers.
  • AI-driven Backend Development: Build and optimize backend systems that leverage cutting-edge AI technologies, including Large Language Models (LLMs) and Generative AI, aimed at automating vendor interactions.
  • End-to-End Ownership: Manage integrations, deployment pipelines (CI/CD), and ensure the scalability and responsiveness of the system. Familiarity with AWS, PostgreSQL, and various integration APIs will be critical in this role.
  • Pilot Customer Collaboration: Engage directly with customers, gather feedback, and use that input to refine the product experience continually.

Required Skills & Experience

Candidates should possess a strong background in software engineering. Key requirements include:

  • A robust foundation in computer science, software architecture, and backend development experience with languages such as Python and Node.js.
  • Proficiency in React, TypeScript, and Next.js to construct modern web applications.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure.
  • An interest or experience with cutting-edge AI technologies, particularly LLMs.
  • Practical experience with third-party API integrations and rapid prototyping capabilities.
  • A startup mindset demonstrating resourcefulness and adaptability.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and strong communication skills in English.

Preferred Qualifications

While not mandatory, candidates with the following skills will be favored:


  • Experience in designing evaluation and monitoring frameworks for AI workflows.
  • Lightweight development experience using platforms like Supabase and Vercel.
  • Familiarity with speech recognition (STT) and text-to-speech (TTS) technologies.
  • Real-time communication experience with technologies like WebSocket and WebRTC.
  • Previous startup experience, especially in developing products in an early stage.
