Responsibilities
The Accounting Manager will own the entire accounting cycle, drive significant process improvements, and lead a team of staff accountants in a high-growth, cross-functional environment.
Key Responsibilities include:
Leading and owning the month-end close process, which encompasses reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting.
Overseeing core accounting functions including revenue recognition (ASC 606), inventory management, intercompany transactions, payroll, accounts payable and receivable, and management of fixed assets.
Reviewing and managing the preparation of financial statements and internal reporting packages.
Performing balance sheet and P&L fluctuation analyses, providing actionable business insights from data.
Managing treasury activities which include cash flow forecasting, maintaining banking relationships, and optimizing liquidity.
Partnering with supply chain teams to improve inventory controls, reporting, and forecasting, which includes conducting cycle counts and optimizing inventory turns.
Developing and enhancing accounting policies, procedures, and internal control documentation.
Identifying and implementing process improvements and automation to facilitate scale.
Mentoring and developing the team of staff accountants to ensure a high-performance team.
Supporting external audits and readiness for public reporting requirements.
Collaborating cross-functionally to facilitate transparency, accountability, and operational efficiency.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field; a CPA license is preferred.
A minimum of 5+ years of accounting experience, including some time in public accounting, with 2-3 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and hands-on experience with ASC 606, inventory accounting, intercompany transactions, payroll, AP/AR, and fixed assets.
Experience in treasury management, which includes cash flow forecasting, managing banking relationships, and investment strategies.
Proficient in using ERP systems and possess strong Excel skills for analysis and reporting.
Track record of successfully driving process improvements and automation in accounting workflows.
Experience in supporting external audits and ensuring readiness for public reporting.
Familiarity with eCommerce inventory management and operations within the healthcare industry is a significant advantage.
Proven experience in leadership, particularly in mentoring and developing accounting staff teams.
Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, particularly with eCommerce, inventory, and supply chain teams.
An analytical mindset capable of translating financial data into clear business recommendations.

Work Environment
This role is classified as a hybrid position, requiring candidates to be located in the San Francisco Bay Area, CA, or the Salt Lake City/Orem, UT area. The company is open to hiring relocation candidates as long as they are already planning to move to one of the specified regions. Salary and Benefits
Positions at Clera offer a competitive salary ranging from $90,000 to $110,000 per year, contingent upon the candidate's experience and qualifications. A hybrid work arrangement is provided, allowing flexibility across the locations mentioned above.
