In your role as a vCISO & Privacy Advisory Consultant, you will be responsible for:
Developing Privacy Compliance Programs: Spearheading the formulation and execution of privacy frameworks like CCPA/CPRA, GDPR, SOC 2 Privacy, and ISO 27701 to ensure organizations meet regulatory requirements and align with data protection strategies.
Conducting Privacy Gap Analyses: Performing comprehensive evaluations of client ecosystems to detect privacy gaps, chart data flows, and devise remediation strategies for internal and external data handling.
Providing vCISO Strategic Advisory: Offering senior leadership and oversight, formulating long-term cybersecurity maturation roadmaps, and advising on risk mitigation and incident response workflows.
Assisting in Client Documentation & Policy Guidance: Aiding clients in drafting and refining policies and procedures, ensuring technical documentation accurately reflects compliance necessities and organizational benchmarks.
Engaging in Pre-Engagement Consultation: Supporting client managers at RSI during scoping discussions, contributing to proposals, and offering subject matter expertise for client engagements.
Maintaining Methodology & Knowledge: Staying abreast of the latest security frameworks and regulatory developments to ensure advisory services are reflective of industry best practices.
The ideal candidate for this position should meet the following criteria:
Experience: A minimum of 5 years in the IT field, with at least 3 years specifically in vCISO advisory roles with a strong emphasis on privacy regulations like CCPA/CPRA and GDPR.
Certifications: CISM, CISSP, or CISA certifications are a must. Holding IAPP certifications such as CIPP/US and CIPM or being a Lead Auditor for ISO 27701 is highly preferred. QSA or other audit-related certifications will also be regarded favorably.
Technical Expertise: Profound understanding of security controls, data protection frameworks, and risk management principles. Ability to translate technical settings (cloud, network, or application levels) into strategic privacy and security recommendations grounded in regulatory requirements.
Consulting and Engagement Management: Proven track record in leading advisory projects, managing client relationships, and delivering premium strategic outcomes punctually.
Communication Aptitude: Exceptional written and verbal abilities, capable of clearly articulating complex topics to both technical teams and executive stakeholders.
Familiarity with Tools: Prior experience with project management tools such as Monday.com, Asana, or Mavenlink is advantageous.
