Job Position: Frontend Software Engineer

The position available is for a Frontend Software Engineer. This role is an exciting opportunity for developers who are passionate about working in a SCRUM team and contributing to the Twilio Console platform. Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Designing, developing, testing, and deploying new features utilizing modern technologies like React, Typescript, Playwright, Vitest, and Buildkite.

  • Owning your code, responding to incidents, participating in on-call rotations, and conducting root-cause analysis for incidents.

  • Meeting the Definition of Done for the software you construct and actively participating in the refactoring and technical debt reduction process.

  • Writing robust automated unit and integration tests within a continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) framework.

  • Managing workflows through tools such as Github, Jira, and Twilio’s own build and deploy systems.

  • Collaborating with team members, influencing platform improvements, and participating in agile ceremonies like design and code reviews as well as backlog refinements.

  • Rapidly acquiring new technical skills in a fast-paced environment and documenting projects for clarity.

Required Skills

To excel in this position, candidates should have:

  • At least 2 years of hands-on development experience, particularly with Frontend applications utilizing modern JavaScript technologies, especially React and Typescript.

  • Experience in developing and implementing testing strategies with automated testing frameworks such as Playwright and Cypress.

  • Familiarity with REST APIs or GraphQL and knowledge of modern automated testing and CI/CD pipelines.

  • A solid reputation for good engineering practices, especially in development and testing techniques, security, and automation.

  • Capability in troubleshooting and resolving production issues while demonstrating a positive attitude and eagerness to learn within a SCRUM team setting.

  • Excellent communication skills both in writing and verbally.

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent industry experience is preferred.

Desired Qualifications

While not strictly required, the following experiences are desirable:

  • Experience with AWS or other public cloud infrastructure platforms.

  • Familiarity with observability tools such as DataDog and Grafana.

Work Environment
