Key responsibilities of the Senior Quality Engineer include:
Creating documentation related to testing, such as test plans, test cases/scripts, and bug reports that assess quality and its associated risks.
Collaborating with the automation group to improve regression coverage by automating features.
Assisting with the triage of automation results to ensure efficient issue resolution.
Conducting comprehensive QA tests and verifying outcomes within defined schedules or timelines.
Increasing expertise in the product while engaging with software engineers, product managers, and other QA testers within an Agile team environment.
Driving technical discussions during design and implementation reviews at the architecture and code level.
Providing technical leadership to junior team members, thereby guiding their efforts towards meeting goals.
Conducting proof of concepts (POCs) and making recommendations to enhance product quality.
Working with QA management to develop and implement new processes across the organization.
Supporting project management efforts as a technical contributor, product expert, and QA manager assistant.
Candidates applying for the Senior Quality Engineer position should possess:
A Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Applications, or related fields.
Strong coding experience in Java and/or mobile programming languages.
Understanding of Software QA methodologies, including black-box and automated testing.
Relevant experience in writing and automating test cases for various forms of testing, including sanity, in-depth, boundary, negative, compatibility, and concurrency tests.
Experience with software development and/or software test automation.
Curiosity and the ability to learn new technologies swiftly.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Proven leadership or mentorship experience is a significant advantage.
While not mandatory, the following skills and experiences are preferable:
Familiarity with Python or other object-oriented programming languages.
Experience using Cypress and familiarity with SQL.
Practical knowledge of Atlassian products such as Jira and Confluence.
Experience in authoring automated tests using standard functional test automation frameworks (e.g., Cucumber, Selenium, TestNg).
Understanding of modern best practices for software development.
Experience in a SaaS environment and knowledge of agile development processes.
Exposure to the Health Sciences and Life Sciences industry.
Experience in Mobile Testing and Automation (Appium, XCUI, Espresso, KIF).
Background in Mobile Apps Development for Android/iOS.
The base salary for this role ranges from CAD 90,000 to 165,000, with variations based on individual qualifications, experience, and expected contributions. Beyond the base salary, candidates may also be eligible for:
