Collaborate with fellow engineers in an Agile team environment to perform testing and verify outcomes within established timelines.
Create automation tests in conjunction with the automation group to ensure effective test coverage across the platform.
Take initiative in conducting QA tests and using insights garnered to improve product quality continuously.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior colleagues to help them achieve defined goals and elevate the overall team competency.
Participate in architecture and code-level discussions, influencing decisions that enhance product quality.
Conduct Proof of Concepts (POCs), making actionable recommendations that advance quality assurance processes.
Work closely with QA management to design new procedures and efficiently implement them throughout the organization.
Successful candidates should possess the following qualifications and experience:
A Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, or a similar field.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Java and possibly mobile languages, showcasing software QA methodologies expertise, tools, and approaches.
Comfort with writing and automating test cases, including a variety of testing types such as boundary, negative, compatibility, and concurrency tests.
Relevant professional experience in software development and/or software test automation is essential.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, alongside proven capabilities in leadership or mentorship to foster team growth.
Ideal candidates may also bring additional skills, such as:
Familiarity with Cypress, SQL, and Atlassian products such as Jira and Confluence.
Experience working within a SaaS environment and knowledge of agile development processes.
Understanding of modern software development best practices and specific techniques in mobile testing and automation (e.g., Appium, XCUI, Espresso).
Salary for the Senior Quality Engineer position ranges from $90,000 to $165,000 CAD. This range is designed to comply with local employment regulations and is adjustable based on individual candidate experience and location.
