Role Overview
Trase is on the lookout for a Sales Engineer/Solution Architect to join their team in a contract capacity. This individual will collaborate closely with the sales team to translate customer requirements into actionable product use cases, design tailored technical solutions, and create impactful demos that help clients visualize potential applications of their technology. This hybrid role demands a blend of technical acumen, product-oriented thinking, and strong communication skills. The individual will serve as an essential connection between customers, Sales, Product, and Engineering departments.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will engage in the following activities:
Partner with the sales team during discovery calls, technical deep dives, and evaluations, ensuring clarity in customer requirements and success criteria.
Transform customer challenges into relevant product use cases, solution strategies, and implementation plans.
Clearly convey Trase’s platform capabilities to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Construct quick demo prototypes and proof-of-concept illustrations, including lightweight scripting demos, to validate workflows and streamline deal closures.
Manage and enhance demo assets such as reusable scenarios, sample data, reference architectures, and competitive analysis.
Develop clear documentation including requirements summaries, solution proposals, architecture diagrams, and handoff documents for delivery teams.
Collaborate with Product teams to provide feedback based on customer interactions, surfacing recurring needs and identifying roadmap opportunities.
Ensure a smooth transition from sales to engineering by equipping the technical implementation team with necessary context and clarity.
Required Skills
To excel in this role, candidates must demonstrate the following core capabilities:
Experience as a Sales Engineer, Solutions Architect, or a role with similar responsibilities in customer-facing technical sales.
Strong technical fluency: the ability to address technical inquiries, elucidate system behaviors, and analyze decision trade-offs.
Exceptional communication skills: the capability to lead discussions, simplify complexities, and foster customer trust.
Product mindset: adept at transforming vague customer feedback into clear requirements, use cases, and actionable next steps.
Demo and Prototyping Skills
Proven track record of quickly creating demo prototypes to showcase solution paths and expedite decision-making.
Comfortable working with APIs, integrations, and configurable product surfaces, with a willingness to learn new systems.
Collaboration and Operating Style
Ability to work collaboratively across Sales, Product, and Engineering teams, ensuring a strong follow-through on initiatives.
Adaptability to a fast-paced environment, where priorities may shift based on direct customer feedback.

Compensation
The salary for this position ranges between $170,000 and $200,000 based on experience, skill level, and other related factors.
