The position of Principal Offshore Structural Engineer is pivotal within Venterra's Design Team, which merges offshore and onshore civil and geotechnical engineering expertise. This multi-disciplinary team is responsible for a variety of tasks related to energy transitions and marine development sectors.

Responsibilities

The Principal Offshore Structural Engineer will lead critical structural activities across offshore wind projects. This includes:

• Creating state-of-the-art designs that align with project planning and budgetary constraints.
• Conducting independent offshore structural analysis, design, and reporting to ensure high-quality technical deliverables.
• Addressing complex technical challenges, developing effective solutions, and communicating them clearly to various stakeholders, including project teams and clients.
• Implementing hands-on structural analyses with suitable engineering software to solve intricate design issues.
• Guiding and mentoring junior engineers and ensuring quality through detailed technical reviews.
• Coordinating with certification bodies for foundation approval and providing necessary construction and fabrication support.
• Participating in tender preparation by outlining the scope of work and assuring that methodologies meet project expectations.
• Enhancing technical competence in the discipline and upholding high standards in project deliveries.
• Building and maintaining client relationships to ensure satisfaction and repeat business.

Required Skills and Experience

Candidates are expected to possess a robust set of skills necessary to excel in this engineering role. Key qualifications include:

• In-depth knowledge of structural dynamics, hydrodynamic loading, and fatigue assessment.
• Proven experience in offshore wind turbine support structure design (specifically monopiles and jackets).
• Proficiency in linear and non-linear structural analysis using advanced tools such as ABAQUS, ANSYS, SESAM, SACS, and USFOS.
• Familiarity with offshore wind design codes and certification protocols.
