Role Overview

As a People Operations Associate, you will play a significant role in supporting Monzo's People Operations team. This team is responsible for curating excellent employee experiences by streamlining core people processes. The position requires managing various aspects of the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, offboarding, and general administrative tasks related to employee status changes.

Key Responsibilities

Your day-to-day responsibilities will fall under several categories:

Managing Core People Processes:

  • You will administer changes in people systems and sign up for employee benefits.
  • You will be charged with issuing contractual change letters and managing the offboarding process.
  • Issuing employment references and addressing pay queries will also be part of your duties.
  • You will manage caregiver leave and respond to general inquiries from employees (referred to as Monzonauts).

Auditing & Controls:

  • Conducting regular audits for core people processes to ensure compliance and accuracy in documentation is vital.
  • You’ll carry out data audits to maintain the integrity of employee information.
  • You will check critical documentation such as employment contracts and right-to-work documents.

Process Design & Improvement & Projects:

  • You will be involved in designing new core people processes and improving existing ones.
  • Producing and continually enhancing documentation for these processes will be part of your role.
  • Your support will extend to People Partners, Reward squads, and Hiring squads on broad people projects.

Candidate Requirements

Monzo is seeking candidates who possess the following skills and abilities:


  • Prioritization Skills: You will manage a high volume of tasks and queries with varying levels of importance, adhering to service level agreements (SLAs).

  • Attention to Detail: Given the sensitive nature of the work, accuracy is paramount when processing systems changes and documentation.

  • Strong Communication Skills: As the first point of contact for many employee inquiries, your role is to ensure a positive experience for all Monzonauts.
