Lifecycle Management: Oversee the entire lifecycle of MEP systems from design through to installation and commissioning, ensuring that every phase is executed with precision.
Technical Leadership: Act as a technical lead on all MEP-related matters across several active sites, providing expertise and guidance to teams and subcontractors.
Subcontractor Management: Scope, select, and manage subcontractors responsible for electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and fire systems, ensuring alignment with project goals and standards.
Design Reviews: Conduct comprehensive design reviews and participate in value engineering exercises. This interaction includes collaboration with consultants and vendors to ensure the designs meet compliance and functionality requirements.
Modular System development: Work alongside internal teams to help develop and standardise modular MEP systems and repeatable designs that enhance efficiency and effectiveness across projects.
Documentation and Standards: Maintain ownership of all MEP documentation, drawings, and technical standards required for the business, ensuring they are updated and compliant with the latest regulations.
Intellectual Property Support: Support the development of intellectual property related to power, cooling, and system integration within modular settings.
Technical Input & Troubleshooting: Provide essential technical input for due diligence, site assessments, and feasibility studies. Moreover, troubleshoot any system-level issues and ensure that they are resolved quickly and effectively in the field.
To qualify for the MEP Engineer position, candidates must possess the following essential skills and qualifications:
Education: A degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering or a related discipline is required.
Experience: Candidates should have broad experience across all three MEP domains (mechanical, electrical, and plumbing).
Project Knowledge: A strong understanding of data centre or industrial infrastructure projects is crucial.
Subcontractor Management: Proven experience in managing subcontractors and delivering technical outcomes over multiple sites.
Construction Familiarity: Familiarity with modular or offsite construction techniques and containerised systems will be advantageous.
Regulatory Understanding: A solid grasp of relevant UK standards and codes is mandatory, ensuring all work complies with industry regulations.

Software Proficiency: Familiarity with specialized software tools such as Revit/AutoCAD, thermal modelling tools, and understanding of power distribution design will be a plus.
Professional Development: Candidates working towards Chartership (CEng/MCIBSE/MIET) may have a competitive edge in the hiring process.
The salary for this position ranges from £40,000 to £65,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
