Job Responsibilities

The HR/Payroll Specialist role at Wurk requires acting as a trusted advisor for clients situated across multiple states. The position will primarily focus on implementing tactical HR processes and technology for Managed Service clients. You will also play a vital role in supporting both the company's expanding customer base and their employees by managing payroll from start to finish while ensuring the accuracy of employee data.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing HR advising to multi-state clients on policies and procedures.

  • Offering insights and best practices related to recruitment and retention, employee relations, leave management, performance evaluations, training, compensation, HRIS, labor laws, and legal compliance.

  • Advising clients on the creation and administration of HR policies, procedures, and handbooks to ensure all operations comply with established guidelines and regulations.

  • Conducting audits of HR activities to confirm compliance.

  • Maintaining a robust knowledge of legal requirements crucial to daily employee management, which helps to reduce legal risks and guarantees regulatory compliance.

  • Learning Wurk's Managed Services platform while developing suitable client relationships and beginning payroll processes.

  • Managing a portfolio of clients and delving into Account Management to understand client retention and engagement better.

  • Facilitating on-time and accurate payroll processing for clients.

  • Providing ongoing employee support through phone and email regarding payroll processes and the use of Wurk Technology.

  • Assisting with internal and external project management as necessary.

  • Performing other related duties as required.
