Conducting audits and reconciling payroll data prior to transmission, validating confirmed reports, and ensuring compliance with relevant tax regulations.
Overseeing the administration tasks related to employer and employee benefits, including Health Savings Accounts (HSA), Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA), and more.
Preparing payroll-related journal entries and performing reconciliations between payroll outputs and General Ledger (GL) postings.
Supporting the execution of Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) controls and preparing for internal and external audits.
Collaborating with numerous departments such as People Operations, Total Compensation, Finance, and Accounting to develop improved payroll processes.
Ideal candidates should possess the following qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or equivalent experience.
A minimum of 5 years of relevant payroll experience in a US context, ideally within a technology start-up.
Advanced knowledge and understanding of HR processes and payroll taxation for various benefits.
Experience with processing stock transactions and understanding different tax treatments.
Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel and familiarity with payroll software like ADP Workforce Now or Workday.
Strong organizational skills, a detail-oriented approach, and the capability to work both independently and collaboratively with teams.
dbt Labs offers competitive salary packages that are based on experience. The typical salary range for the Lead Payroll Analyst role is:
$101,000 to $122,400 (base salary not including equity).
In specific locations, the compensation could reach between $112,000 to $136,000.
