Key Responsibilities

The Investor Reporting Analyst II will be involved in a variety of tasks, including but not limited to:

  • Completing mortgage accounting activity reports for various portfolios, including agency, guarantor, investor, trustee, and client portfolios. This requires a solid understanding of the reporting metrics and accounting norms relevant to the mortgage industry.

  • Utilizing a basic knowledge of SQL coding to analyze data related to servicing, reporting, remittance, and reconciliation. The ability to interpret and manipulate data effectively is crucial in this role.

  • Handling the remit of payments according to the specified guidelines of agencies, guarantors, investors, and clients. This involves calculating wire transfer amounts as needed, ensuring accurate payment processing.

  • Reconciling LoanCare’s mortgage accounting records against external records from agencies, guarantors, and other stakeholders to maintain accuracy and transparency.

  • Conducting complex pool to security reconciliations for Mortgage-Backed Securities (MBS) remittance type investors and proactively managing custodial account balances.

  • Independently researching and resolving any outstanding custodial, clearing, and reconciling items within set timelines. This requires a strategic approach to problem-solving within the financial landscape of mortgage servicing.

  • Collaborating with operational business units, clients, and investors to rectify reporting and remittance discrepancies. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are crucial for this aspect of the job.

  • Identifying necessary procedure updates and participating in enhancement testing, aiming for continuous improvement within the Investor Reporting space.

  • Assisting in the training of junior analysts and providing support as required. This includes sharing knowledge and best practices to bolster team capabilities.

  • Responding to inquiries from clients and investors with a focus on maintaining high levels of customer service and clarity in communication.

Required Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates should possess the following qualifications:

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent is required, while an Associate degree or relevant coursework in accounting or finance is preferred.

  • At least 2 years of experience in Investor Accounting/Reporting and/or Mortgage Servicing. Alternatively, candidates may possess an equivalent level of education in accounting or finance.

  • Demonstrated experience with FNMA, GNMA, FHLMC, and/or Private Investor Reporting is advantageous.

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) is essential, with an emphasis on analytical and critical-thinking skills.

  • Familiarity with Lender Processing Services (MSP) or other mortgage servicing platforms is a plus.

  • Candidates must showcase proficiency in basic arithmetic, effective communication (both verbal and written), and an ability to work independently within a team structure.
