Ideal candidates should possess the following background and experience:
Fluent in English: Must be fluent in English, with native fluency in Hmong.
Experience: While 1+ years of over-the-phone interpretation experience is a plus, it is not mandatory. Previous experience in a well-known interpretation company is beneficial.
Medical Terminology Knowledge: Familiarity with medical terminology will be advantageous, though not required. Understanding legal terminology is also a plus.
Certifications: International certifications in the healthcare industry (e.g., PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA) are a plus.
Education: A high school diploma in your native language is required.
Soft Skills: High emotional intelligence, cultural tolerance, communication skills, listening prowess, note-taking ability, and memory retention are crucial.
As this position is fully remote, candidates must meet certain technical criteria to ensure efficient performance:
Internet Connection: You will need a high-speed, secure, and dedicated internet connection with a minimum download speed of 10 Mbps and upload speed of 3 Mbps.
System Requirements: A computer with a minimum of Windows 10 operating system, dual-core 2 GHz processor or better (Intel Core i5 or superior), and 8 GB of RAM.
