Responsibilities

  • Accurate Message Rendering: Ensure that all messages are interpreted accurately and completely, without adding or omitting any information.

  • Customer Service: Provide the highest level of customer service during interpretation sessions.

  • Communicate Clearly: Facilitate communication between Limited English Proficient clients and English-speaking counterparts.

  • Participate in Training: Engage in internal professional training sessions and pursue new certifications to further develop your skills.

  • Dress Code Compliance: Follow the dress code requirements for Video Remote Interpreting sessions.

Skills and Qualifications

Ideal candidates should possess the following background and experience:

  • Fluent in English: Must be fluent in English, with native fluency in Hmong.

  • Experience: While 1+ years of over-the-phone interpretation experience is a plus, it is not mandatory. Previous experience in a well-known interpretation company is beneficial.

  • Medical Terminology Knowledge: Familiarity with medical terminology will be advantageous, though not required. Understanding legal terminology is also a plus.

  • Certifications: International certifications in the healthcare industry (e.g., PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA) are a plus.

  • Education: A high school diploma in your native language is required.

  • Soft Skills: High emotional intelligence, cultural tolerance, communication skills, listening prowess, note-taking ability, and memory retention are crucial.
