Job Role

Eight Sleep is currently seeking a Data Scientist focused on growth strategies. This expert is expected to be adept in working with sales and marketing data to construct intricate predictive demand models. The right candidate will blend strong analytical skills with marketing acumen, fundamentally guiding optimizations that directly affect growth strategies.

The responsibilities involve:

1. Developing and maintaining predictive models for sales growth, customer behavior, and lifetime value.
2. Creating a Media Mix Model, assisting in the assessment of different scenarios for spending allocation across various marketing channels.
3. Collaborating with Growth and Finance teams to provide insights into new business opportunities aimed at revenue growth.
4. Leading quantitative analysis that will equip the CEO, CFO, and VP of Growth with insights into marketing performance and member behavior.
5. Creating and maintaining dashboards for essential marketing metrics to facilitate data-driven decision-making.
6. Building full-cycle analytics experiments, comprehensive reports, and dynamic dashboards using SQL, R, Python, or other tools.
7. Identifying growth and operational efficiency opportunities within the marketing funnel.
8. Translating complex data insights into concise and actionable recommendations for the team.
9. Converting product objectives into data science problems and facilitating communication in the opposite direction as well.
10. Building analytical ETLs that support data science models effectively.

Qualifications

To succeed in this role, candidates are required to have the following skills and qualifications:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a similar field.
• A minimum of three years of experience in data science, ideally within a marketing or growth-centric position.
• Proven experience with SQL and data visualization tools such as Looker or Tableau.
• Proficiency in programming languages like Python or R.
• Experience in building data pipelines, particularly using ETL methods with tools like dbt or comparable DAG tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are imperative.
• Ability to distill complex data into digestible insights to impact decision-making.
