Cornelis Networks is hiring for the role of Ethernet Host Adaptor ASIC Design Engineer.

Position Overview

This position involves designing state-of-the-art Systems on Chip (SoCs) intended for deployment in high-performance computing, data analytics, and AI interconnect solutions. It is critical for candidates to demonstrate extensive knowledge in ASIC design specific to networking hardware.

Key Responsibilities

The role encompasses numerous key responsibilities, including:

  1. Developing microarchitecture specifications for packet processors and designing high-speed pipelined data paths which emphasize low-latency performance.

  2. Implementing Register Transfer Level (RTL) designs using Verilog/System Verilog aimed at high-speed data paths and packet processing logic.

  3. Working closely with verification engineers to formulate block- and system-level test plans ensuring complete design coverage.

  4. Defining timing constraints for RTL blocks, collaborating with Physical Design engineers to achieve timing closure.

  5. Supporting post-silicon validation by cooperating with hardware, firmware, and software teams in debugging and resolving ASIC issues.

  6. Contributing to performance optimization efforts and power-aware design strategies focusing particularly on Host Fabric Interface subsystems.

Required Qualifications

To be considered for this remote position, candidates must meet the following minimum qualifications:

  • A B.S. or M.S. degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related fields.
  • At least 7 years of post-college experience in digital design with proven skills in Verilog and System Verilog.
  • Experience in RTL design focusing on high-speed data paths or packet processing in ASICs.
  • A deep understanding of Host Ethernet adaptor architectures.
  • Familiarity with timing closure and the latest physical design methodologies.
  • Proven capability in system-level debugging and root cause analysis of technical issues.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

While not mandatory, the following qualifications would enhance a candidate's application:

  • Knowledge concerning Ethernet architecture and associated networking protocols.
  • Prior experience with RTL development for Ethernet host adapters and system debugging.
