To qualify for this role, the following are the required skills and experiences:
Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related scientific field (BEng, BSc) is a must. Moreover, having Chartered Engineer or Technician membership from a recognized institution is necessary.
Experience: Candidates should possess 10-15 years of experience in engineering or technical functions, notably having at least 5 years of experience in major infrastructure projects as a Contractor's Responsible Engineer (CRE) or Engineering Manager (CEM).
Technical Proficiency: A strong foundation in managing design interfaces and integration processes is essential, as well as experience in an engineering production environment. Familiarity with engineering software tools like Trimble/Amtech Pro Design, Dialux, or Relux is important, along with a deep understanding of UK design standards.
Team Leadership: Proven experience in motivating multi-disciplinary engineering teams and delivering high-quality outputs.
Knowledge: Expertise in railway engineering, particularly in regard to Network Rail, HS2, and major station infrastructures is critical. Knowledge of implementing BIM Level 2 Accreditation and related standards will be an advantage.
