The role being offered is an Architect - Infrastructure. This position is critical for the Cloud Infrastructure team at Veeva, which is dedicated to utilizing a variety of cloud and open-source technologies to deliver a platform that is massively scalable and highly available. The Vault Platform plays a key role in enabling the rapid development of enterprise applications for Life Sciences customers, thereby facilitating clinical trials, compliance with regulations, and production of life-saving medicines.
The Architect will be responsible for designing and implementing a highly available, distributed, and secure system on a cloud platform. Tasks include ensuring immutability across application and storage layers and managing backend service containerization.
Collaborate with product management and development teams for technical design and problem-solving.
Enhance existing infrastructure, architecture, and processes for optimal performance on cloud platforms.
Take ownership of all implementation aspects from design to maintenance.
Design and construct scalable, highly available systems.
Build and maintain multi-tenant RESTful services at scale.
The position requires a range of technical skills and experience:
Hands-on experience with multiple AWS technologies such as EC2, IAM, Route 53, and Elastic Load Balancing.
At least 12+ years of commercial software development experience with Object Oriented Languages like Java, C#, or Go.
Current development experience with open-source technologies including Spring, Gradle, Git, Jenkins, and Linux.
Proficient in scripting languages such as Linux Shell and Python.
Familiarity with Immutable Infrastructure and Infrastructure as Code patterns including Docker, Ansible, and AWS SDK for Java.
Strong communication skills and the ability to mentor effectively.
Experience in developing enterprise software for businesses.
Familiarity with agile methodologies is advantageous.
The salary for this Architect position ranges from $200,000 to $300,000. This range is provided to comply with local regulations and represents a potential base salary for this role. Actual salaries may vary based on individual qualifications and experience.
